Baglamukhi Jayanti
Celebrate the divine appearance day of Goddess Baglamukhi with special pujas, havan, and cultural programs. This is one of the most auspicious days to worship the goddess and receive her special blessings.
Baglamukhi Jayanti marks the divine appearance day of Goddess Baglamukhi, the eighth Mahavidya among the ten Mahavidyas. This auspicious day is celebrated with great devotion and fervor by devotees of the goddess.
According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Baglamukhi appeared on this day to defeat the demon Madan who had the power to destroy his enemies with his speech. The goddess, with her power to paralyze her enemies, stopped the demon's destructive speech and defeated him.
On Baglamukhi Jayanti, devotees observe fasting and perform special pujas to seek the blessings of the goddess. The rituals begin early in the morning with a special abhishekam (ritual bathing) of the deity with panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar).
The main puja is performed at midday, which includes recitation of Baglamukhi mantras, havan (fire ceremony), and offering of yellow flowers, turmeric, and sweets to the goddess. Yellow is the color associated with Goddess Baglamukhi, and devotees often wear yellow clothes on this day.
The celebrations also include cultural programs, bhajans (devotional songs), and distribution of prasad (blessed food) to all devotees. Many devotees also undertake charitable activities on this day, such as feeding the poor and donating to the needy.
Baglamukhi Jayanti is considered an extremely auspicious day to start any Baglamukhi sadhana or to perform special rituals for victory over enemies, protection from negative energies, and success in legal matters.
